Weather in Mombasa

While Kenya generally experiences a tropical climate with parts of the country undergoing variations in weather patterns, the weather in Mombasa follows an established routine. The rainy season begins in April and lasts till June, with May bringing the heaviest rainfall of the season. June and July continue to remain cool with the average temperature in Mombasa hovering at 27 °C. The second wet season begins in October and lasts through November.

In these months, it usually rains in short, heavy spells during the afternoons with the sun shining out before and after the downpour. While lodging and other tourist service rates are low during this season, the heavy vegetation hampers wildlife spotting on the safari trails.

December marks the beginning of summer which lasts through April. The temperature averages 31 °C during the day in this season.

As is evident, there are no major temperature variances in the weather in Mombasa. It offers a climate conducive to year-round travel.
